Pre Season
Do NFL players get paid during the pre-season games?
Also, when Brandon Marshall was suspended for the rest of the pre-season by the Broncos today, is it true that he is still getting paid during the suspension? Does a player like Marshall get paid anything at all during the pre-season or not until the season begins?
NFL players only get paid for the games they play, basically 1/16th of their salary for each game.
In the pre-season, they get paid a per diem that varies by their tenure. The per diem is considerably less than their salary.
Players suspended by teams almost never get paid. So Marshall is missing out on his per diem.
