Are NBA basketball tickets too expensive for most people to afford?
I was looking into buying some tickets for a pre-season game and the least expensive option was $60 which I cannot afford. I am wondering if this seems expensive to most others too. Is NBA only available to the rich?
I was shocked at how expensive tickets were to Bobcats games last year. I went to one game and sat in the lower level, in the section diagonal to the court and the ticket were $85 a piece, so I spent $170 for one game. The seats were great but I was expecting something more along the lines of $50 but you pay that much to be in the rafters. What is the most frustrating is when you go to a game, like the one I went to last year, and you see so many empty mid-court seats that sell for upwards of $150-$200 per ticket. It seems to me they would rather off you the chance to upgrade your $85 ticket at the door, for say, $25 more instead of letting the seats go unpurchased. Also, this would greatly increase the excitement and energy at the games.
